A Message from the Music Director & Conductor…

Following the advice of some of the world’s finest doctors, I am still only up for light duty. So on Sunday I will be sharing the podium with some of our own members as guest conductors. I would like to acknowledge their dedication in taking on the extra work that goes into preparing a piece for performance. They have the responsibility to guide the band, not only through the notes, but through the nuances of cadence and dynamics that are so necessary to make the music come alive as the composer intended. And today’s program is replete with challenges for both the musicians and conductors! So be prepared to be blown away by the trumpets in Liberty Fanfare, by the clarinet duo in Clarinet Candy and by the trombones in Mournful Maggie. We hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoy bringing it to you.
